Watch Out! How to Master the Art of Observation with Joanna Quinn and Les Mills

Joanna Quinn‘s unique blend of fine artistry and skillful animation has led to her becoming one of the most highly-regarded directors and animators of her time. Her masterful interpretations of life in all its forms are globally renowned and have earned her multiple awards including 4 BAFTAs, 3 Emmys and 3 Oscar nominations.

In Watch Out! How to Master the Art of Observation, Joanna is joined by her partner in life and work, Emmy-award winning producer, Les Mills, to examine some of the elements that have led to their success. Drawing on examples from two of their award-winning shorts, Elles and Britannia, Joanna will reveal how she uses the simple technique of observation to create work that truly connects with audiences. In the Cesár nominee, Elles, two of Toulouse Lautrec’s models take a lively and boisterous break from posing. Britannia, meanwhile, is a brilliantly biting view of British Imperialism that won Joanna the prestigious Leonardo Da Vinci award in 1996.
