Join acclaimed cartoonist Harry Burton for a fun, practical and accessible workshop that breaks the art of cartooning down into five simple steps. Designed for participants aged 16 and over, this hands-on session reveals how cartoonists spot ideas, find the joke and transform a spark of inspiration into a finished drawing.

You don’t need to be an artist to take part. In fact, the focus is less on perfect drawing and more on learning how to think like a cartoonist, identifying a “cartoon-able” idea, simplifying it into a visual concept and delivering it with clarity, humour and impact.

With years of experience creating cartoons for publications including the Irish Examiner, Harry Burton knows how to distill complex subjects into a single memorable image. In this relaxed and encouraging workshop, he’ll share the tricks of the trade and prove that cartooning is far more achievable than most people imagine.

No experience required. Just bring your curiosity, your sense of humour and a willingness to draw outside the lines.
