Kilkenny Animated Presents
Seeing a Story – Illustration Workshop with Melissa Malone
WORKSHOP
Can a single image tell an entire story?
Join art director Melissa Malone for a creative workshop that explores the art of visual storytelling through illustration. Designed for participants aged 14 and over, this welcoming and hands-on session invites you to transform a personal memory, experience or story into just one or two powerful images.
Melissa will help participants to discover how illustrators communicate emotion, character and narrative without relying on words. Using a range of materials and techniques, you’ll experiment with different approaches to create an image of a story from your life.
No artistic experience is required! Whether you’re a confident sketcher, an occasional doodler or someone who hasn’t drawn in years, this workshop is about ideas, creativity and discovering new ways to express yourself.
Based in Waterford, Melissa Malone is an accomplished art director whose work includes the acclaimed Netflix series Dead End. Bringing her professional expertise and encouraging teaching style to the session, she’ll help participants unlock the storytelling potential hidden within every image.
